Toyota has long been synonymous with reliability, with some enthusiasts taking that admiration a step further, claiming their vehicles possess a bulletproof resilience capable of withstanding any challenge.

Now, Canadian armoured vehicle manufacturer Inkas has made that bold assertion a tangible reality by armouring the new 250 Series LandCruiser Prado along with its luxurious counterpart, the Lexus GX.

Both SUVs have undergone significant modifications to achieve a BR6 armor level certification—the highest safety standard available to civilians without the need for special permits.

Currently, a plethora of new car deals can be found at CarExpert, where expert advice can help you secure a remarkable offer. Start exploring your options today.

Among the critical upgrades are a comprehensive ‘360-degree’ perimeter protection system, which envelops the cabin in specialized materials designed to shield occupants from ballistic threats. The vehicles boast military-grade ballistic glass, a door overlap system designed to thwart ammunition from breaching seams, a reinforced rear bulkhead partition, and enhanced fuel tank safeguards.

Additionally, the SUVs are fitted with 20-inch wheels equipped with military-grade run-flat tires, featuring solid polycarbonate inserts that enable continued mobility even in the event of punctured wheels.

Inkas claims that both the Prado and GX can withstand the fire of 7.62mm assault rifle rounds as well as the impacts of two DM51 hand grenade detonations.

The company further offers an array of optional enhancements to amplify the protective features of the Prado and GX, including engine bay armoring, a roof escape hatch, integrated CCTV and GPS systems, oxygen filtration mechanisms, and night vision cameras.

This is not Toyota’s inaugural venture into the realm of armoured vehicles; the automaker provides in-house bulletproofing services in Brazil, available for models such as the HiLux, Corolla, Corolla Cross, and Fortuner.
