Ultimate Torture Test: LandCruiser 70 Series vs. Mahindra Pik-Up
This explosive video delivered an unexpected twist. In a true ultimate torture test, CarExpert’s Paul Maric pit the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series against the Mahindra Pik-Up—venerated workhorses known for their rugged capabilities. Venturing across demanding terrains, from steep hills to rugged cobblestones, both vehicles were pushed to their limits.
Despite the LandCruiser’s price tag being twice that of the Mahindra, Paul was taken aback by the Pik-Up’s commendable performance under heavy loads. While the LandCruiser showcased its superior stability, the Mahindra impressively rose to the challenge, especially given its maximum gross vehicle weight.
This led Paul to a striking conclusion: the Mahindra not only delivered exceptional performance and value at a significantly lower price, but buyers could even afford an extra Pik-Up for parts and still be financially ahead compared to purchasing a LandCruiser. “While the 70 Series has its strengths, it certainly doesn’t justify its price,” Paul remarked.

2024 Drag Race: Hyundai Ioniq 5 N vs. Supercars
In a thrilling series of drag races, CarExpert co-founders Paul Maric and Alborz Fallah put the remarkable Hyundai Ioniq 5 N EV against a lineup of elite machines: the Porsche 911 GT3, Brabus G63, Lamborghini Huracán STO, and Ferrari 812 Competizione.
The competition spanned various formats, from initial standstill starts to rolling races at 50 km/h, showcasing the impressive acceleration of the Ioniq 5 N. While the manual 911 GT3 struggled to keep pace and the Brabus G63 held its ground, the Ioniq 5 N continuously delivered impressive results. The car sprinted from 0-100 km/h in just 3.22 seconds, but it was the Ferrari 812’s V12 that ultimately secured victory in the 1/4 mile, with Alborz exclaiming, “Glory to the V12! Glory to the V12! I have slayed the dragon.” Paul quipped in response, “It won by the smallest of margins.”
It was a remarkable display, affirming that for $110,000, the Ioniq 5 N can hold its own against vehicles ten times its price.

Nissan Patrol Y63 Revealed: Key Insights for 2025
The highly anticipated reveal of the Nissan Y63 Patrol allowed Paul to explore significant updates, including a new engine, air suspension, and infotainment enhancements—all while delving into its formidable off-road capabilities and anticipated Australian launch. Garnering almost 5,000 views, the video ignited a flood of reactions, including a notable comment from @Hammerocks3: “As a LandCruiser owner, I must admit, this new Patrol is impressive. It has a modern, premium feel—though the price hike is disappointing. Still, it has the potential to give the LC300 a serious run for its money.”

Speeding Technology Battle: Google Maps vs. Waze
Which is superior for avoiding speeding fines: Google Maps or Waze? Paul, a devout Waze user, took an evidence-based approach to settle the debate by comparing their accuracy using a calibrated laser speed detector. Results indicated that Waze provided precise speeds at both 80 km/h and 100 km/h, while Google Maps showed significant fluctuations that could lead to speeding violations, especially in strict jurisdictions.
Paul’s conclusion was clear: for reliable speed monitoring, trust Waze over Google Maps to help avoid costly fines.
2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado: A Detailed Review
Finally, when the all-new Toyota LandCruiser Prado made its debut, Paul took the wheel of the five-seat Altitude variant. While the Prado demonstrated commendable off-road capabilities, he expressed disappointment at the lack of performance improvements compared to previous models. Priced at $92,700, its 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine felt sluggish and unnecessarily heavier, raising concerns about its competitiveness in a changing market.
Though well-equipped and off-road ready with features like a front sway bar disconnect and rear diff lock, Paul found the slow traction control and delayed diff engagement frustrating. He lamented that for the price point, Toyota could have delivered a more compelling offering. “Toyota could have just done a little bit more,” he stated. “Releasing a new generation of a vehicle that underperforms is concerning.”
