Genesis Australia has issued a recall for 572 electric vehicles (EVs) spanning the GV60, Electrified GV70, and Electrified G80 model lines due to a critical defect that may result in power loss.

According to the recall announcement, the issue stems from a software malfunction in the Integrated Charging Control Unit, which interferes with the proper charging of the auxiliary 12-volt battery. This mismanagement could lead to battery depletion and ultimately a loss of power while driving, significantly raising the risk of accidents that could endanger both occupants and other road users.

Vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2024 are included in this recall, and a list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) has been made available. It’s worth noting that this particular fault also impacts related models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. Although a previous recall related to this issue was announced in April 2024, it has since been superseded by the current notice.

Owners of the affected Genesis models—GV60, Electrified GV70, and Electrified G80—are encouraged to contact their nearest authorized Genesis dealer to schedule a complimentary software update appointment.
